Indiana’s 2025-26 roster will be built this spring by new coach Darian DeVries, who will navigate the transfer portal to assemble his first team in Bloomington.

Inside the Hall will examine some of the prospects linked to the Hoosiers this spring. Today: North Florida guard Jasai Miles.

Numbers to know

64 career games at North Florida: 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 25.1 minutes per game. Miles is a career 41.6 percent shooter, connecting at a 32.5 percent rate from 3-point range and 64.6 percent at the free throw line.

Background and potential fit

Miles is coming off an improved sophomore season at North Florida and could make the leap to the high-major level.

A Miami, Florida, native, Miles starred at Miami Country Day High School, where he had a prolific five-year career – he began playing varsity in eighth grade. Despite multiple all-county and even a 2021 all-state selection, Miles flew under the radar in recruiting circles.

A zero-star prospect, Miles had five Division I offers and ultimately chose North Florida.

The 6-foot-6 guard was an immediate contributor with the Ospreys. His freshman season, Miles played behind future Tennessee standout Chaz Lanier and appeared in all 32 games, starting in 19.

In 18.6 minutes per game, Miles averaged 5.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. His efficiency numbers didn’t pop – notching marks of 38.9 percent from the floor, 29.9 percent from deep and 67.2 percent at the stripe.

With Lanier leaving for Tennessee, others departing and with a year of experience, the stage was set for Miles to take a sophomore leap.

He did just that. Starting in all 32 games, Miles averaged a team-high 15.4 points per contest alongside 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 31.7 minutes a game – also a team-high.

Even with an increased volume of shots, Miles still considerably improved his efficiency. In 5.9 more attempts per game, Miles shot 42.5 percent overall with an improved mark of 33.5 percent from distance. His free throw percentage dipped to 63.2 percent.

Most notable was Miles’ 3-point volume. On a North Florida squad that averaged 3.6 more 3-point attempts than any other Division I team, Miles took 9.2 attempts from deep per game.

In his breakout year this past season, Miles became accustomed to big performances. His first came early in the year, posting 18 points and 11 rebounds in an upset win at Georgia Tech. The Ospreys received 14 votes in the week 2 AP Poll due to wins over South Carolina and the Yellow Jackets.

Miles’ marquee performance of the season was a 30-point, 11-rebound game against Georgia Southern on Dec. 7. The Ospreys completed a 17-point second half comeback thanks to 19 points from Miles in the second frame but lost in overtime.

Miles proceeded to be named ASUN Player of the Week on Dec. 9. He received ASUN third team All-Conference honors for the season.

The sophomore guard entered the transfer portal last month. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

With a 6-foot-6 athletic frame, Miles can score at all three levels. He’s comfortable shooting off the dribble and has deep range, only needing a little separation to fire with a quick release.

His improvement from year one to year two stands out, increasing nearly every average and percentage. Still, it’s largely in part due to his increased usage and volume, which would likely not be replicated at Indiana.

Miles is visiting Indiana beginning today.
