Report: JUCO 7-footer Emeka Opurum offered by Indiana

According to a report Sunday evening, JUCO 7-footer Emeka Opurum has received a scholarship offer from Indiana.

A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Opurum played in 33 games last season at Butler Community College and averaged 9.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in 22 minutes per game.

Opurum also averaged 2.6 blocked shots per game. He scored in double figures 13 times last season at Butler Community College.

A first-team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference selection, Opurum was named the defensive player of the year in the conference.

He reportedly has a 7-foot-9 wingspan. As pointed out by Tony Adragna, new IU staff member Mike Bargen was the head coach at Butler Community College for seven seasons before spending the last 10 seasons at Bradley.
