Indiana’s Henna Sandvik and Sharnecce Currie-Jelks to enter the transfer portal
Two additional women’s basketball players will enter the transfer portal, according to reports published Wednesday afternoon.
Indiana junior guard Henna Sandvik and junior forward Sharnecce Currie-Jelks are the fourth and fifth players from the program set to enter the portal this spring.
A native of Helsinki, Finland, the 6-foot Sandvik appeared in 75 games over three seasons for the Hoosiers.
Sandvik was a backup in each of her three seasons in Bloomington and never averaged more than 9.9 minutes per game.
She averaged 1.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in the 2024-25 season and shot 48.3 percent from the field. For her career as a Hoosier, Sandvik scored 81 points.
Her best game as a Hoosier came on December 15 against Bellarmine. Sandvik scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds in 25 minutes.
Currie-Jelks, who transferred from UT Martin before the 2023-24 season, played in just nine games over two seasons for the Hoosiers. She last played in an IU game against Rutgers on February 6 and did not score in two minutes.
A native of Jackson, Tennessee, Currie-Jelks was the OVC freshman of the year in the 2022-23 season. She averaged 15.2 points and 6.9 rebounds at UT Martin.
Sandvik and Currie-Jelks join Julianna LaMendola, Lexus Bargesser and Lilly Meister as the five IU women’s players with eligibility remaining to depart the program so far this spring.
