Indiana sophomore guard Julianna LaMendola will enter the transfer portal, she announced Tuesday.

“I would like to thank coach (Teri) Moren and her coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to play at Indiana,” LaMendola wrote on her Instagram account. “To my teammates, thank you for all the memories we have created throughout the last two years. I am grateful for and will cherish the relationships cultivated throughout my time here at Indiana.

“To the Hoosier fans, thank you for the consistent support throughout my time here. After much consideration, prayers and support from my family, I have decided it is in my best interest to enter the transfer portal for my remaining years of eligibility.”

A native of Coppell, Texas, the 6-foot-1 LaMendola appeared in 60 games over two seasons for the Hoosiers.

As a freshman, she averaged 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds and shot 40.4 percent from the field, including a 22.7 percent mark from distance. LeMendola averaged 9.5 minutes per game in the 2023-24 season.

Her role grew slightly as a sophomore. She played 10.9 minutes per game, averaged 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds, shot 34.3 percent from the field and 35.1 percent on 3s and made five starts.

LeMendola scored a career-high 10 points and added eight rebounds and five assists in a 95-61 win against Bellarmine on December 15 at Assembly Hall.

Out of high school, LaMendola was considered a four-star recruit and was ranked No. 52 nationally by ESPN. She recently signed with BXLENT Management & Marketing for NIL representation.

She has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
