Banner #1 – Indiana beats Ohio State in overtime

Just when it looked like things were heading in the wrong direction after two consecutive blowout defeats, IU played a thriller against Ohio State. Led by amazing nights from Luke Goode and Oumar Ballo, the Hoosiers pulled out a 77-76 nail-biter.

Indiana built a 10-point lead with five minutes left. However, the Buckeyes rallied to tie the game on a long three-pointer with under a minute left. The Hoosiers had three layup attempts to win the game at the end but missed them all, forcing overtime. In the extra period, Goode hit a game-winning shot from long range with 1:07 remaining. On the final OSU possession, Anthony Leal blocked an attempt near the buzzer, preserving the victory.

Afterward, IU coach Mike Woodson spoke, Inside the Hall had a photo gallery, Ryan Corazza wrote a Minute After, Alex Bozich put together Five Takeaways, and Will Foley penned a column about Indiana playing with more pride.

The Hoosiers return to action on Wednesday against Northwestern. The contest is on BTN and will start at 7 p.m. ET.

Banner #2 – IU dominated by Illinois in a 25-point home loss

In one of the ugliest home defeats in program history, Indiana was run off the floor 94-69 by Illinois in a game that featured many negative moments. The students chanted to fire Woodson while many other fans booed and left at halftime. To cap it off, the teams got into a scuffle late that featured pushing and shoving, highlighted by Ballo coming into the fray and knocking an Illini player to the ground.

Afterward, IU coach Mike Woodson spoke, Inside the Hall had a photo gallery, Ryan Corazza wrote a Minute After and Film Session, Alex Bozich put together Five Takeaways, and Kevin Vera penned a column about the second straight blowout loss.

Banner #3 – IU women get a massive win at Iowa but fall at home to Illinois

The women went to Iowa and picked up their biggest win of the season, 74-67, against a ranked (at the time) Hawkeyes squad. The Hoosiers hit 10 3-pointers, including a perfect 5-5 from Yarden Garzon, who led the team with 21 points. It was also just their second victory in Iowa City since 1994.

However, when Indiana came home on Thursday, an Illinois squad who they match up very poorly with defeated IU 68-54. The Hoosiers fell down early and made a run to get within four points early in the fourth quarter before the Illini pulled away.

IU has a massive challenge in Bloomington today against top-five USC and potential national player of the year JuJu Watkins. The tip is at noon ET on NBC and fans are encouraged to wear white.

In other news, the Hoosiers announced a staff addition. Former Indiana Fever assistant coach Paul Miller will be the director of scouting and analytics.

Banner #4 – NCAA tournament outlook

While the men’s team has two additional wins, the women’s squad has a significantly better outlook for postseason play. The men have a solid 14-5 record but a NET in the 60s as they continue to suffer too many blowout losses to go with close victories, which lowers their metrics. They sit just outside the field at the moment. Also, they are just 12th in the conference according to Inside the Hall’s power rankings.

On the other hand, the women have had several noteworthy victories and (as of Saturday) a NET in the 30s. As a result, they are projected to be a nine seed in the latest Bracketology. At 12-5 overall, they are on track for a sixth straight appearance in the March Madness field.

Banner #5 – Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows

Podcast on the Brink was recorded twice this week. The first episode featured the radio voice of women’s basketball, Austin Render, discussing the team. The other show previewed Indiana vs. Ohio State with the Columbus Dispatch’s Adam Jardy.

The Back Home Network was on-air multiple times in the last few days. Assembly Call PostgameCrimson CastDoing The Work and Dribble Drive all were on-air.

Banner #6 – Hoosier Roundup

• Wrestling knocked off arch-rival Purdue in West Lafayette.

• Women’s soccer announced a coaching change and the passing of a former coach. Also, a former player signed a professional contract.
