The Washington Wizards selected Indiana senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis with the 57th pick in the 2023 NBA draft this evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The IU All-American will not play for Washington, though, as Golden State acquired the rights to the pick and Jackson-Davis.

Jackson-Davis was the second Indiana player selected in Thursday’s draft, joining Jalen Hood-Schifino. The Big Ten freshman of the year was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 17.

The Center Grove product is IU’s second NBA draft pick under Mike Woodson.

Jackson-Davis was a consensus first-team All-American last season for Indiana. He started 32 games and averaged 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, four assists and 2.9 blocks per game.

He was the first Division I men’s basketball player to average at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in a season in more than 25 seasons.

Jackson-Davis finished his Indiana career as the program’s all-time leader in rebounds (1,143) and blocked shots (270). He is third on Indiana’s all-time scoring list with 2,258 points.

As a second-round pick, Jackson-Davis is not guaranteed an NBA contract.
