Phinisee can’t covert on a drive and an attempt at the rim. As he falls down on the baseline, Simpson has the rebound and he’s on the move:

Both Juwan Morgan and Romeo Langford are guarding the ball. Charles Matthews is open to Simpson’s right:

Simpson passes to Matthews. He’s got space head in the lane and Jordan Poole as a potential option in the left corner:

Matthews opts for the drive and Durham just reaches in instead of trying to get a body in front of him:

From there, Matthews puts a fake on Morgan and he lands on him as he goes up again for the foul as Durham and Langford look on:

Matthews hit both of his free throws at the line to put Michigan up 14 after this lackluster transition defense from the Hoosiers.
