Film Session: Ohio State
With Ohio State up 10 not much later, Jae’Sean Tate sets a ball screen for Scott:
Hartman switches to ward off the drive. Blackmon Jr. now has Tate but doesn’t commit to getting his body in front of him and just keeps an arm on Tate:
This allows him space to the cup and he calls for the ball. The pass comes:
Tate puts a spin move on Blackmon Jr. and as Max Hoetzel rushes over to try and block the shot, Tate scores for an and-1 opportunity, though he missed his shot at the line:

Just a few plays earlier, Tate got the ball in the post against Zeisloft and put a move on him for a score. While he didn’t have an outright height advantage on IU’s small lineup, he’s got a big body and strength to give him a leg up and it helped him go 9-of-10 from the field with a host of buckets around the rim.
