III. Here Devin Davis has his man marked and he gives up the ball:
With the ball on the other side of the court, Davis still has his body close:
The ball eventually makes it way back over to the left wing, but Davis begins to sag into the lane despite the fact that no Samford player is coming into the paint and towards the hoop:
While Davis in the paint, Noah Vonleh’s man comes right up to him and seals both players off as the skip pass comes:
Allowing the Bulldogs to get a very clean 3-point look, which connects:
Don’t have an inside knowledge of the coaching staff’s defensive principles, but Davis seemed to be better served staying a little closer to home on his man here.
